Aero Race 6.1 Jersey

When Castelli designed the first road race aero jersey in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy. Back then, aero was just for TTs. Performance clothing meant moisture management. And you could win the Tour de France with a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt. Even our aerodynamic advisors expected limited gains, so we named the jersey Split Second, although, as we do now, we thought even small gains were worth pursuing. In the end, the gain was significant and we completely changed the look of the pro peloton.

We are now in the sixth major overhaul of our aero jersey. Each generation has become more aerodynamic and more fitting. The Aero Race 6.0 benefits greatly from CFD analysis of the wake current in the riding position for fabric placement and seams. It is also based on feedback from professional riders as we have worked to make the jersey comfortable for their long hours of training and racing in all kinds of weather conditions.
